The Perfect Code (Poem)

An important segment of me is damaged a lot,

And it can’t be easily repaired.

It’s one line of the Perfect Code written by God,

Which drives me and all his eight billion heirs.

Whenever this broken line runs against my will,

It manifests as bad habits, addictions, spinning wheels.

But since this bug was also created by Him, it can’t be wrong,

It has a purpose: to transform loud noise into peaceful song.

Masters, friends, and family might help a lot,

But I am the one who must debug what’s rot.

I must not crumble when the bug takes control once more,

Bringing a sense of hopelessness, defeat, deep in my core.

A thousand errors may precede a single revelation,

This is an essential pillar in the Divine Hackers foundation.

Fragments of this flawed script I’ve fixed and must conserve:

“Stay organized, speak the truth, and to others, always serve.”

It’s good that I’ve cracked a few words out of the broken line already,

But in order to get it fully, I must expand my vocabulary.

Many new words may present themselves before my eyes and ears,

But I’ll only know their truth through “sweat, blood, and tears”.

I will spend the rest of my days trying to decipher the Perfect Code,

And eventually, my hardware will become dusty, rusty, and old.

To the point that I can run no more this complex software operation,

And this unfinished work must be borne to the next generation.

I know I’ll shout down before I fully comprehend,

But, in doing so, I’ll live as the Great Programmer intends:

A diligent hacker trying to decipher His Code, righteous,

And scattering the fragments revealed, as and benevolent virus.

The Great Programmer wrote two indelible lines, it's all I know:

“Have flaws" and "Be good”, which seem impossible to follow.

But overcoming this riddle is certainly our ultimate duty:

Transform chaos into order; darkness into light; ugliness into beauty.

No matter how fast everything will erode,

I’m finally in peace with this coding strife.

Because live to grasp and run the Perfect Code,

Oh, dear friend, that’s the ultimate good life.
